Stephen Clancy is a television director who resides in Los Angeles, California.
Clancy began his career in the camera department and has worked as an A camera / steadicam on over 300 episodes of television including shows such as ENTOURAGE, NCIS LA, GREYS ANATOMY, and HEROES. He has also worked on feature films such as INSIDIOUS, IRON MAN, ERIN BROCKOVICH, RETURN TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, and A PERFECT GETAWAY.
Because of his talents, his ability to command a set, and his good rapport with actors, Clancy earned the opportunity to direct on the cult TV show, THE GILMORE GIRLS. He made his debut with the episode The Incredible Shrinking Lorelais. Warner Brothers quickly followed the success of the episode with offers to be a regular director. His episode We’ve Got Us a Pippi Virgin was submitted by the studio for Emmy consideration. His success at Warner Horizon continued with the opportunity to direct the number one rated cable show RIZZOLI AND ISLES. In 2012 he directed Face Value,which would bcome the first of his four episodes of RIZZOLI AND ISLES.
Clancy has worked with many outstanding directors, but a few have especially influenced him by their willingness to share their talents. These people are Amy Sherman-Palladino, Karen Gaviola, Norman Buckley, Chris Long, Michael Katleman, and Michael Robin.
